Japanese Banks — Bad Loans, Earnings and Statements
Bad-Loan Ratio by Bank Group
Claims disclosed under the Financial Reconstruction Act as a share of total credit, by type of lender, every half-year since March 1999. The ratio is the FSA's own figure for each group; the groups are not comparable in size — the city banks lend several times what the credit co-operatives do.
Earnings by Bank Group
The FSA's fiscal-year results summary for the major banks and the regional banks. The major-bank income statement is consolidated and the regional-bank one is not, and the two net business profit lines are different measures — read the legend.

The principal lines of one bank's balance sheet and income statement from the Japanese Bankers Association's compilation, on the newest fiscal year and the one before it; the series run from March 2002. Every member bank is here, listed or not, under its 金融機関コード. Amounts are millions of yen as published; the change is calculated from them.
